THE ANALYSIS OF WOMAN'S STRUGGLE AND WOMAN'S ROLE IN IRON LADY FILM

This research is intended to analyze woman’s struggle to get equal like men in Politic and
the roles of woman as a wife, mother and the leader of the country in a film Iron Lady. This
research also analyzes efforts done for their equal status with men in politic and it shows
how the women can take the roles at her job and at home of the main character in this film.
This research is conducted by applying the library research by analyzing the film. This
research is also done in the theoretical framework of the study of literature by applying
feminism. The results showed that the film shows a woman's struggle to obtain equality
position as a member of parliament. This struggle is found in the figure of Margaret
Thatcher as a woman to who struggle obtain the same rights and the same position in
politics in the UK. And shows how a woman is able become a leader and able to play dual
functions, both at home and in the workplace. The shape of struggles are by finishing
school at the University of Oxford, and then she attending the political party which, and she
married with the rich man who she considered able to support him join the MPs, and
become the first woman to join the parliament and the last time she became a member of
parliament and run for leader of party and finally she advanceds to become the Prime
Minister, Margaret is able to become the country's first female leader in U.K. This analysis
also shows how a woman is capable of acting as a wife who respects her husband, a caring
mother with a child and as a leader who is able to take the big decisions as a leader for the
country in. And be able to improve the economy of the country.
