The Analysis Of Translation Techniques Of Mata Yang Indah By Kenedi Nurhaninto Beautiful Eyes By Rebecca Fanany
ABSTRACT
This research is entitled The Analysis of Translation Techniques of ―Mata yang
Indah‖ by Kenedi Nurhan into ―Beautiful Eyes‖ by Rebecca Fanany. This is a
descriptive qualitative research. This research also analyzes the translation
techniques used are most dominant in the short stories. The data are taken from
four short stories in ―Mata yang Indah‖. All data in short stories are identified
and classified based on the classifications of translation techniques. Data
description and identification are using concept of translation techniques which is
proposed by Molina and Albir which emphasizes that translation techniques
analysis is describes the result and it can be used to classify various solutions of
translation. The analysis of translation techniques, such as borrowing, calque,
literal translation, compensation, transposition, description, modulation,
amplification, adaptation, establish equivalent, generalization, particularization,
reduction, discursive creation, substitution, linguistic compression, linguistic
amplification, and variation. The result shows that the found only seventeen of
eighteen techniques. Total distribution of the translation techniques is 105
findings/items. The distribution varies from one techniques to others. There are
four most dominant translation techniques such as naturalized borrowing 15
items, transposition 16 items, modulation 11 items, and adaptation 11 items.
While variation techniques cannot be found.
